He was a civil rights pioneer who co-founded the National Farm Workers Association, and once again, Nueces County will be honoring the life and legacy of Cesar Chavez with a march.

On Wednesday, Nueces County commissioners signed a proclamation recognizing the 15th annual Cesar Chavez Unity March, which will take place on Sunday, March 30, one day before what would have been Chavez' 87th birthday.

The march will begin at 11 a.m. at Agnes and Port, and will go along Cesar Chavez Memorial Parkway. The public is invited to participate.
