One of the two victims in a severe beating that happened late Tuesday night at a Rockport home has died of the injuries that he sustained.

The victims, 54-year old Martin Chadwick and 72-year old Dennis Barsness, were both left with severe injuries and were taken to Christus Spohn Memorial Hospital. According to the Rockport Police Department, Chadwick died in the hospital Friday morning.

It was early Wednesday morning when a burglar alarm summoned police to a home in the 1200 block of Enterprise in Rockport. That's where the two victims were discovered.

Police believe the suspect, 32-year old David Anthony White, was invited into the home before the beating occurred. White is from San Antonio, and police believe he could be back there. Police also said he is a heroin addict, and is believed to be extremely dangerous.

"We are awaiting an autopsy result to come back, at which time further charges will be sought," Rockport Police Commander Mark Cory said. "And it's also believed that the suspect may be driving one of the victim's vehicles, that vehicle being a 2002 Dodge Dakota, gray in color."

Police say White is considered extremely dangerous and ask that you call them at 361-789-1111 if you have any information that could help them track him down.
