The mantra behind the City's newest cleanup program is "Why pass it up? Pick it up." That program was unveiled Wednesday at Windsor Park Elementary School.

It's called the Picky Pete Cleanup Program and it was created by Corpus Christi developer and philanthropist Dusty Durrill to teach kids the importance of picking up litter at their schools and serving as role models for others.

"If you pick up a piece of trash and then you put your name on a piece of paper, and your teacher's name, and then you put it in a bucket," Windsor Park student Abby Rister said. "And then Dr. Bissell will call your name from a bucket if she picks out your name."

The Picky Pete Cleanup Program was first introduced to the Corpus Christi Independent School District back in 2010.
