About $6,000 worth of equipment was delivered to the Corpus Christi Police Department Thursday, courtesy of the Citizens Police Academy Alumni.
The equipment was donated to the gang unit, patrol and the criminal investigations division. It includes cameras, recorders and rip hobbles, which could not be funded by the police department budget.
Fundraisers were held throughout the year by the Citizens Police Academy Alumni, providing the money to buy the donated equipment. They are a group of citizens that have completed the Citizens Police Academy hosted by the Corpus Christi Police Department.
