A 16-year old Portland boy has been indicted on multiple charges after he allegedly stabbed an elderly woman after breaking into her home.
Dalton Howlett has been certified to stand trial as an adult, but because he is 16, his picture cannot be released at this time. He was 15 years old at the time of the incident, and is facing two different charges -- burglary with intent to commit injury to an elderly person, and one count of aggravated robbery.
"This case is, to me, is a very serious case," said Michael Welborn, district attorney for San Patricio and Aransas counties. "It has very serious implications in our community, and there's a good possibility that I am going to be personally involved in the actual trial preparation and actual courtroom trial of this particular matter."
The stabbing happened in June on the 200 block of Terlingua in Portland.
