Folks in San Patricio are gearing up for a one-of-a-kind race this weekend -- the World Championship Rattlesnake Races.
The event is being put on by the San Patricio Restoration Society. For the past 42 years, the nonprofit has held the Rattlesnake Race, and if you're not squeamish and are 18 or older, you can participate.
The event starts at 11 a.m. Saturday and Sunday, and includes live music, games and food.
"It's something out of the ordinary," Announcer Mark Vankirk said. "Something for the thrill seekers. Something for the Winter Texans."
Admission to the event is $7, and $20 to race a rattler. If you plan on racing, make sure to wear high, thick boots and blue jeans.
All the money raised will go toward restoring the historic buildings in San Patricio. For more information, click here.
