There was some confusion Monday morning at Haas Middle School as parents received calls from their kids asking them to pick them up due to a power outage at the school.
At that time, however, there had been no official word from the district advising parents to pick up their kids. As such, the students' absences would have been counted as unexcused absences. But shortly after 11 a.m., that official word from the district came, advising parents that students would be released for the day.
Officials at Haas Middle School said they hope to have power back by this afternoon, and that classes will continue as regularly scheduled Tuesday morning.
