An arrest has been made in connection with a weekend shooting at Gloria Hicks Elementary School, which sent three people to the hospital.

Jose Erebia, 18, was arrested in connection with Saturday night's shooting at the elementary school's basketball court. The victims were ages 15, 17 and 27.

Police said the shooting stemmed from two groups of teens fighting over a tagging turf war.

"That escalates into violence. A fistfight turns into a gun shooting, like this did," said Officer Gray of the Corpus Christi Police Department. "We are fortunate that we don't have three young men dead right now. All of them are gang members. We are going to treat them as gang members."

All of the victims were taken to the hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening. Police said an investigation is still ongoing.
