Word of a suspicious package found in the post office of Naval Air Station-Corpus Christi caused a bit of a scare Friday morning.
The package was found just after noon, prompting a lockdown at the base post office. According to Public Information Officer Bob Torres, the rest of the base remained open during the investigation, and the base police handled the problem quickly.
"We had people go in there and check it to make sure it was nothing deadly, so the military police went in, checked it, took care of the package and of the situation," Torres said.
It is not know what was inside the package or why it was labeled suspicious, but Torres said neither the base nor the people inside were every in any danger.
