As we ring in a new year, the generosity of the Coastal Bend was once again on full display Tuesday; this time at the Good Samaritan Rescue Mission.

Yolanda Guerrero and her friends decided to make 800 tacos to distribute to those staying at the shelter. They delivered the meal Tuesday afternoon.

It took three days of preparation to make the tacos, which consist of carne guisada and refried beans. Yolanda said she wanted to start off the new year on the right foot.

"We never know when we'll be in their shoes one of these days," Guerrero said. "Doing something for our lord."

As you can imagine, Guerrero and her friends received plenty of thanks from the hungry crowd.
