Two teens are being called heroes this weekend after they helped rescue two other people who were having trouble in the water at Lake Corpus Christi in Mathis.

The incident happened on Saturday. Anthony Villareal was swimming with a friend in the lake when he heard a man who was in distress.

The man was in the water trying to help a young girl get back to shore, but he couldn't make it and started to have trouble himself.

Both teens sprung into action. One by one, helping the man and the young girl who we're in distress.

The young girl was taken to the hospital by ambulance. The man was flown via HALO Flight to Christus Spohn Memorial. Both are expected to be okay.

Park rangers say even though it is a lake, the wind can make it tough to fight the water. In meantime the two teens are being called heroes for saving the day.
