CORPUS CHRISTI (Kiii Sports) - It was a rare double-header of Thursday Night Football in the Coastal Bend, the first this high school season, as the Moody Trojans fell to Laredo Martin 62-27 and Skidmore-Tynan held off Santa Gertrudis 40-38 down in Kingsville.

Moody fell on homecoming night with the loss effectively ending any chance of a postseason run for Coach Mike Cantu in his first season on the Trojans' sideline.

The Skidmore-Tynan Bobcats needed a late stop to hold off surging Santa Gertrudis Academy, a Lions team that had won only one game all season. The Bobcats jumped out to a 20-0 1st quarter lead only to see the Lions storm back and have an opportunity to tie the game late.

Santa Gertrudis failed to get a two point conversion that would have tied the game with under two minutes to go. The Lions recovered the ensuing onside kick only to be whistled for a false start.
