Corpus Christi (kiii sports)- Graduation Day 2013 was a tough one for Moody softball coach Paula Salinas, as half of her softball team walked the stage that day at the American Bank Center.

Fast forward to February 22nd of this year. A much less-experienced Trojan team had just lost its 4th straight game to drop to 3-8 for the 2014 season. Suddenly, after a rugged non-district schedule, Moody rediscovered its formula for success. The Trojans have won 13 of 15 since, and are now tied atop the District 31-4A standings with pre-season favorite Flour Bluff.

Coach Salinas credits her small nucleus of returning players for rallying their teammates and learning as they struggled against a strong non-district schedule.
