A sport utility vehicle carrying a family of vacationers rolled over Friday morning after a vehicle ran a stop sign and struck them at the intersection of Chaparral and Fitzgerald streets.
Two children who were in that SUV were sent to the hospital with minor injuries.
It as around 9:45 a.m. when a Toyota heading north on Fitzgerald Street blew through the stop sign at Chaparral and t-boned the SUV, causing the vehicle to roll over. The driver of that Toyota was ticketed for failing to yield.
The mother of the vacationing family in the SUV also received a citation because her children were not restrained in their child safety seats. Fortunately, the children are expected to be okay.
