IceRays Looking to Secure Playoff Spot Thursday

The IceRays might be just a single point from clinching a spot in the NAHL playoffs, but they have their sights set higher.

The IceRays might be just a single point from clinching a spot in the NAHL playoffs, but they have their sights set higher.

Corpus Christi is currently tied for third place with the Wichita Falls Wildcats at 64 points, but the Wildcats would have the tiebreaker if both finish even. The IceRays would like to finish in the third or even the second seed to avoid the Lone Star Brahmas, the top team in the NAHL record-wise.

The IceRays say even if they do face Lone Star, they feel they can hang with number-one seeded Brahmas with the way they've been playing. Corpus Christi hosts Lone Star in back-to-back games Thursday and Friday. The IceRays have seven total games remaining in the regular season to clinch a postseason berth, something they can do with a win or an Odessa loss.
