WICHITA FALLS, TX (Javelinas Athletics) - The Texas A&M-Kingsville men's basketball team received 22 points from Jordan Jahr but it wasn't enough to overcome Midwestern State on Saturday as the Javelinas fell 83-62.

Jahr hit 9-of-13 shots from the floor and 3-of-4 from the 3-point line in finishing with 22 points – two off of his career high of 24 from earlier this season at Schreiner. Rashad Basey scored 12 points for the Hoggies after missing Wednesday's win over Cameron.

Kingsville (6-12, 1-5) was within seven, 42-35, at the intermission and trailed by just six after jumper by Jahr five minutes into the second half.

Midwestern (12-6, 4-2) extended its lead to 60-46 on DeJuan Plummer basket with 10 minutes left before Kingsville made one more run to get back within single digits. Adonis Bailey connected from behind the arc and Jahr converted a 3-point play to start the run. Basey's basket with 7:21 left made it 65-56.

Midwestern would allow Kingsville six points the rest of the way en route to the win.

Kingsville finished 44.1% from the floor, but went to the foul line just nine times in the game. Scott led all players with seven assists, while Ta'Quan McDew had four assists and three steals to go with eight points.

MSU, which shot 46.4% from the floor, went to the line 31 times hitting 23. The Mustangs finished with 41 rebounds to 30 for Kingsville.

Monzaigo Williams led the hosts with 20 points, while Plummer added 13. Xavier Blackburn had 12 and Cam Adderley 10 with a game-high eight rebounds.

Kingsville is off until traveling to Angelo State on Saturday for a 4 p.m. contest.
