In the early morning hours of January 10, 2009 Nueces County Sheriffs Deputies were dispatched to 3037 FM 665, Mother Earth Recycling, reference a structure fire.

Bishop Fire Department officials were already on scene and were fighting the raging fires, when they observed several items that were out of place for a normal fire scene.

One of the buildings was completely destroyed by the fire, the second building sustained extensive fire, smoke and water damage.

Investigators believe someone entered the business with the sole intention of burning down the buildings.

According to witnesses, two males were observed at the scene of the fire shortly before the fire department arrived.
