On Saturday July the 11th shortly before 8am, Hit & Run investigators responded to the 5200 blk. of Ocean Dr. reference a bicyclist being hit.

Witnesses tell investigators that as Mrs. Barbara Savell was riding her bicycle northbound on Ocean, in the bicycle lane, a dark colored truck possibly black or dark blue, changed lanes into her path and struck Barbara from behind.

The unidentified vehicle then fled the scene of the accident with no regard for Barbara’s well fare, she sustained 2 broken legs one of which was a compound fracture, a broken pelvis, four broken vertebrae, a ruptured spleen, a ruptured liver, both lungs were punctured, and bleeding of the brain.
