The South Texas Lighthouse for the Blind will be hosting "Vision Awareness Days" November 4 & 5.  It gives individuals an opportunity to learn about vision loss and the advancements in technology that help those who are blind or visually impaired to use a computer and other related devies.  For more information call 883-6553, extension 183

In our Be SAFE from Diabetes segment, Ms. Yolanda Soto with Christus Spohn was on to make viewers aware that November is Diabetes Awareness Month.  She talked about the importance of getting the word out about this, and in some cases, preventable disease. 

Some of the risk factors include: High Blood Pressure, Family History of Diabetes, Having Diabetes During Pregnancy. 

The YWCA will be hosting their 19th Annual Yuletide Market on Friday & Saturday, November 6 & 7 at the American Bank Center.  There will be over 45 popular upscale merchants from all over Texas.  Admission is $5, $4 for seniors, children 5 & under get in free.  For more information call 857-5661, ext. 17
