BBB AUTO LINE proceedings are informal. In fact, most cases can be resolved through telephone discussions facilitated by BBB staff. Disputes not resolved by agreement may proceed to arbitration.
Arbitration is an informal hearing at which the consumer and manufacturer's representative present their views of a dispute to a neutral third party, the arbitrator, who will decide how the dispute will be resolved.

Consumers start the process by providing information to the Council of Better Business Bureaus (CBBB) via the internet or calling 1.800.955.5100.

Scheme of the week: Schemers take info about your Facebook ‘Friends’. They contact your ‘friend’ pretending to be you and ask for money.
Here is what happens: Let’s say a hacker gets into your user account. They obtain the contact info for one of your friends. The schemer contacts your friend claiming to be you. They claim you are in London, for example, and in the hospital and need cash right-a-way. They tell you to wire money or make a call and give a credit card number. Of course you are not in London. This is one example. Bottom line, if you receive anything that is urgent or important via Facebook or other such sites check it out before sending money.
