The Better Business Bureau often recieve calls from people upset about some rumor they hear or see in a e-mail. Consumers should verify rumors before contributing to their proliferation. Examples of untrue rumors include: the new presidential silver dollar series not containing the motto, "In God We Trust,", the Federal Communications Commission considering prohibiting religious broadcast programs. By they way those rumors are untrue.

In the scheme of the week Alan warned of scholarship scams and bad deals. He says you should beware of fancy web sites, unsolicited phone calls, and paying up front.
One company the BBB received an inquiry on was Edifi-College Financial Aid Services of Albany, New York.
They have an unsatisfactory report with the BBB due to a pattern of complaints about their sales practices.
