Aransas Pass Police say it was a quite night during a football game between the Aransas Pass Panthers and the Ingleside Mustangs. It was not only a big game, but also a continuation of an intense rivalry that boiled over earlier this week with a graffiti war and promises of retaliation on both sides.

Last weekend, Ingleside's football stadium was tagged and vandalized.  A few days later, the same thing was seen on an Aransas Pass sign.  Fearing retaliation, Police stepped up patrols for the game.  Officers watched both sides of the stadium and made sure unsupervised teens did not cross sides to start any trouble.

Sergeant Antonio Davila with the Aransas Pass Police Department says, "Given the situation last weekend, we decided it would be better to concentrate all of our resources on the crowd."

Parents say they just want to put what happened earlier this week behind them and just let the kids settle the score on the field.
