The city of Corpus Christi played host the first ever "International Conference on Plasma Medicine.

The first ever gathering of scientific and medical minds from all across the globe gathered at the Holiday Inn Emerald Beach today, to dicsuss the further development of plasma medicine and its effective life changing solutions.

It's a treatment that involves the use of electricity at low voltage and actual contact on human skin to treat such diseases as Melanoma , infections and more imporatantly the use of plasma treatments in place of actuall physical cutting in the operating rooms.

Jeff Soward tells 3-News the advantage of using plasma over latest conventional medical treatment:

"If you can imagine for instance in radiation, they can treat a cancer but they damage a lot of tissue all around it with plasma they can focus it on that one area and literally kill the cancer with zero tissue damage."

Mr. Sowards excitement is well expected since his company will be responsible for the development and marketing of said plasma equipment from right here in Corpus Christi.
