Child Sex Offenders in Nueces County who are on probation have to stay inside their homes on Halloween. That is unless they're heading to or from work. The mandate is to keep trick or treaters safe. Probation officers spent the entire night going house to house making sure the offenders weren't handing out candy or having any contact with children. The first offender's home we went to there were lights on and halloween decorations up. All violations. When officers knocked on his door, he didn't answer. But in the morning he'll have to have some answers for his probation officer and then the judge who let him out on probation. The Halloween decorations around his home may get him in enough trouble to send him back to jail. Neighbors who watched the officers in action were glad to see them out keeping track of the child predators.
