It's the writing on the wall, or house we should say on DeForrest Street that is causing quite a controversy.

The two story home is covered in what some are calling graffiti, but the people who live there, call it free speech.

Nicholas Thomas Rhode who is renting the home said, "I want to send a message to America that the world needs peace, the world needs to stop being stupid.  It's not that hard, unity and love is the whole meaning of Christmas and that's why we are doing this.  There is nothing wrong with expressing yourself, its art, appreciate it, this is why we live in America."

However, neighbors and passersby say its an eye sore.

Passerby Bess Burton said, "they have three vehicles, spray painted all over the vehicles, you can't go back on that, they've ruined their house, hanging man, thats not right."

The police department was called out to the home.  However, there was no report filed and no citations were given out by the officer who went to the home.
