Prostitution Website

Corpus Christi police just posted nine new names and pictures on the police department's website. The photographs are of those who've been arrested on prostitution and public indecency charges..

The four women and five men were arrested in recent prostitution stings. Some were arrested in Flour Bluff others on the 600 block of Port. They are all from Corpus Christi except for one San Antonio man arrested outside NAS Corpus Christi.

Their profiles will stay up for the next few weeks. Police say if they make more arrests for prostitution or for crimes such as public lewdness or indecent exposure, those newly arrested could also make it on the website.

This isn't meant to punish, say police, but instead curb what has become a nuisance in some neighborhoods. The hope is the public embarrassment will prevent people from picking up prostitutes.

"We have a lot of good neighbors in all different areas of town. It's offensive to them and it's illegal, and it's also drawing in the wrong element," says Corpus Christi Police Captain Mark Schauer.

You can get to the police website, by going to c-c police dot com, go to the home page, and then click on public indecency related offenses.

Everyone featured on the website is innocent until proven guilty.
