If you see film crews buzzing around Corpus Christi in a rush this week, you've stumbled upon the "Corpus Christi 7 Day Film Project."

Around 30 teams are doing their best to put a 4-8 minute short together in a hurry. They have just a week to work.

Teams put up a $20 entry fee, and have just a few rules beyond the length.

They can use up to 2 cameras, but not more, and must do all their shooting in the Coastal Bend.

And to balance the playing field, all the films must contain the following elements:

1) The same character - A freelance photographer who always seems to miss the shot

2) The same prop - a simple manila envelope

3) They must include somewhere one line of dialogue - "Well, I guess this changes everything."

The films must be submitted by next Wednesday, and the formal showing and judging will be done a week from Friday.

Natural Gas

Should the city of Corpus Christi privatize its natural gas system or keep it under city ownership?

  • Yes. Sell it and let private business run it.
  • No. Keep it as a city department.
  • I don't know.
