It's a celebration of beauty, talent, and Mexican history.
Young ladies from across the Coastal Bend competing Saturday in the 48th annual Feria de las Flores pageant, all hoping to be named the new queen.
Each contestant represented a state of Mexico, then learned all they could to represent that state.
The Feria is sponsored by LULAC Council #1, which, since 1959, has awarded more than $1,000,000 in scholarships to students across the area.
