Area leaders and organizations were on hand at the Nueces County Courthouse Monday to remember those who have been victimized by crime.
A display of wreaths are up at the courthouse to help us remember those victims of crime.
This week marks National Crime Victims's Rights week and the coalition for crime victims rights has many events planned throughtout the week.
"It's important," says District Attorney Carlos Valdez "because victims of crime are rarely remembered. In our laws and the constitution we talk of the rights of the accused but little if any about the victims. We need ceremonies to remember victims of crime."
