Blue Bell expands recall of ice cream with cookie dough

Blue Bell recall expands

According to the company’s official website, Blue Bell is expanding its voluntary recall over possible listeria concerns.

Back in September, Blue Bell said that they were recalling just two types of ice cream over concerns that a cookie dough ingredient supplied by a third-party supplier (Aspen Hills, Inc.) could contain listeria. Now Blue Bell is expanding the recall to all products that contain cookie dough.

No illnesses have been reported, according to the company.

The company lists the flavors being recalled on its website in a statement that reads, in part:

This recall includes the following products in half gallons and pints, Blue Bell Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough and Blue Bell Cookie Two Step sold to retail outlets, and three gallon flavors sold to food service accounts including Blue Bell Blue Monster, Blue Bell Chocolate Chip Cookie, and Blue Bell Krazy Kookie Dough.  These products were produced from February 2, 2016 through September 7, 2016.

The statement went on to say that consumers should return the products for a full refund at the place from which they were purchased and provided a contact number if consumers should have any questions: 979-836-7977.
