(Corpus Christi, May 8, 2008) Family of 19 year old Jeffrey Rosas says its all about the power of prayer. You may recall, Rosas was critically wounded, shot in the chest during a training exercise, near Baghdad. After his mother begged the army not to take her son off life support, this morning, she received another phone call. Rosas is awake, and no longer needs a ventilator.

Orlando Rosas, father of the soldier said, "I would just like to thank the community, our prayers seemed to be answered. our boy appears to be coming home. We want the community to continue praying not only for our son, Jeffrey, but all the military people representing out country."

Rosas is a 2007 Mary Carroll High School graduate. He was deployed to Iraq Christmas Day.

The U.S. Army is now in the process of transferring him from a Baghdad hospital to Germany, afer that he will be brought to Walter Reed Medical Center.

His family plans to meet up with him there.

But again, they'd like to thank Coastal Bend residents for their prayers.
