It's that time again to bee-ware of bee season.

A good reminder of that coming this morning, as a CCISD grounds keeper is stung more than 50 times while mowing the grass around an abandoned school district athletic department building on leopard.

Groundskeeper Frank Corpus, says thankfully he didn't need to go to the hospital. "I was just mowing right there in the corner, and I felt something stinging me, and then all of a sudden I saw a bunch of bees around my face.

Experts say Frank did the right thing by running away from the swarm and not trying to swat the bees. Experts also recommend wearing light colored clothing while doing yard work, because dark colors attract bees. People should also know if they are allergic to bee stings, and talk to their doctors about what to do in case of a sting. Also, check your property for any hives before doing any yard work. Experts say humming engines from cars and mowers can irritate bees and cause them to swarm.
