2012 Coastal Bend Jobs Statistics Show Promising Results

Statistics show that workers in the Coastal Bend earned an average of $44 per week more in 2012 than they did in 2011, according to the Texas Workforce Commission.

The 2012 fourth quarter data shows that the Coastal Bend netted 6,379 jobs in natural resources and mining, bringing in 2,614 jobs. The leisure and hospitality sector added 1,994 jobs, while the trade, transportation and utilities sectors added 1,492 jobs.

The data also indicates that the basic wage for entry level positions is $8.30 per hour.
