Near Bob Hall pier the seaweed is piled up high. Two feet or more in spots. Tourist's are wondering why the beach wasn't ready for the 4th of July. Over between Newport Pass and Zahn Road, the beach sand is what's piling up. The loose sand is so high that it's made the area nearly impassible for anyone who doesn't own a truck or four wheel drive vehicle. Beach workers say they're trying to clean the seaweed off but within an hour or two, it comes right back.
