39th Annual Beach to Bay Relay Marathon Kicks Off Saturday

Sixteen thousand runners will hit the sand and pavement for a relay marathon of 26.2 miles for the 39th Annual Beach to Bay Relay Marathon this Saturday.

Sarah Acosta was live with Beach to Bay organizers for 3News First Edition with advise for participating runners.

The race will kick off at 7 a.m. just south of Bob Hall Pier and end on Shoreline at McCaughan Park. Runners are advised to get to their sites as early as possible to avoid traffic.

First leg runners are advised to arrive at the Sunrise Mall parking lot by 4:30 a.m. to take the bus to the first leg. Organizers also say legs 1 and 2 should either take the bus or get dropped off at their legs.

Race director Doug McBee asks the runners to please be patient with traffic, to make sure everyone stays safe.
