8-Liner Machines, Paraphernalia Found in PMI Store Raid

A three-month undercover investigation led to the temporary shutdown of a westside convenience store Friday morning.

The Corpus Christi Police Department's vice unit converged at the PMI store on Greenwood and Trojan just before lunchtime. Investigators said they received several complaints of an 8-liner business being run inside the store.

Sure enough, the investigators found 10 8-liner machines inside, and even found three people playing the machines while they executed the search warrant; and that wasn't all.

"While we were in serving the search warrant, we found some illegal drug paraphernalia that was for sale," CCPD Captain David Cook said. "Some glass pipes used for marijuana, synthetic marijuana. We seized those and he will be cited for those. It's a violation for each pipe."

Charges on the store owners are pending. The investigation findings will be presented to the Nueces County District Attorney's Office.
