A Look Inside GROW Local South Texas' Community Learning Garden

GROW Local South Texas aims to educate our community about how to grow local produce and the health benefits of eating local.

Sarah Acosta was live for 3News First Edition with GROW Local South Texas at their community learning garden on 3808 Up River Rd near the old Saxet neighborhood in Tom Graham Park.

Members with GROW Local South Texas encourage the community to come out to the garden Tuesday mornings from 8 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and Thursday and Sunday evenings starting at 6 p.m. They are constantly needing volunteers to help tend to the garden, at the same time gardeners of any level can come and learn and share knowledge on growing produce.
There will be a workshop Saturday from 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., "Introduction to Starting Your Own Seed" learning how to plant seeds. Sign up or register for the program on this link: http://growlocalstx.com/lets-sprout/ Cost of the class is $5 for members and $10 for non-members.
