Actor-Comedian Chris Kattan Discusses Loss of Robin Williams

In the wake of Robin Williams' passing, people are questioning the connection between tragedy and comedy. Actor-comedian Chris Kattan believes part of Williams' artistry was rooted in tragedy.

"I think that's what makes people more interesting," Kattan said. "I think that the better the actor is, is because they have some edges that are created by some event or tragedy in their lives, the better the story."

Kattan, who is in the Coastal Bend this weekend to perform his stand-up act, said Williams was his hero.

"He never got tired and bored, and never did the same thing," Kattan said. "He was still being entertaining and brilliant as a performer."

Kattan is featured regularly on the hit ABC show "The Middle," whose season five premieres Wednesday, Sept. 24.
