Airport Worker Injured as Communication Tower Falls

A worker at the Corpus Christi International Airport was rushed to the hospital just after 10 a.m. Tuesday when a 30-foot tall communication tower that he was on fell.

According to Airport officials, the Federal Aviation Administration is working on an upgrade project to remove the older, smaller communication towers from the airport. The worker was attempting to hook up some straps to the tower when it unexpectedly fell.

Luckily, the worker was wearing a harness and was taken to an area hospital with injuries that are not life threatening. He is expected to be okay.
