Alcohol May Be a Factor in Hwy 361 Rollover

Two spring breakers went to the hospital after a rollover accident on the Island.

This happened around nine Sunday morning on Highway 361.

Police say the driver and passenger were drinking until 2 a.m. and camped out on the beach.
When they awoke they got into their car

It is uncertain what caused the driver to lose control and flip over, but police believe alcohol was a factor in the incident.

"If you are going to camp out on the beach and drink stay until you sober up," said Senior Officer Mary Leal of the Corpus Christi Police Department. "No rush to get home. Stay until you sober up."

The driver and the passenger were taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

They are urging the public to not drink and drive.
