While most spring breakers get their sun at the beach, this unique group of alternative spring breakers gets their rays working on a roof.
College groups from Lake Jackson, TX, Minnesota and Virginia, are spending the next two weeks helping build homes for those in need.
The groups are part of Habitat for Humanity who help build homes for those in need.
The non-profit says their foundation believes in giving a hand up not a hand out, meaning the future home owners are required to put in a certain number of hours, "sweat equity," building their home.
The spring break college groups were also joined by a retired group called the RV Care-A-Vanners who travel across the country helping out various Habitat for Humanity chapters.
The groups have been working on two homes on the west side of Corpus Christi, helping roof one home and floor another.
