Aransas Pass Independent School District campuses were placed on lockdown Tuesday as a precaution while police addressed reports of a student who threatened harm to his family, responding officers and himself.
Police eventually found that juvenile and arrested him on a warrant unrelated to the alleged threats.
Reports of the threats were called in Tuesday morning from a third party. Aransas Pass police immediately notified the schools and had them placed on lockdown as a precaution, and began to look for the individual said to be posing the threat. As of 2 p.m., police said that, in the process of being reported by third parties, the threat transformed from a threat against law enforcement and family members to a threat directly toward the school.
Police said they have not yet found any evidence to confirm the threat or the possibility that violence could be carried out.
