As of 6pm Tuesday night, beach access and the beaches controlled by the Nueces County were closed. The surf has definitely gotten rougher from this morning, and the high tides are a little larger than normally. 

Some tourists told Kiii News that it was time to go, while others are choosing to remain and see an event of nature, at least an event that is much calmer that what will be happening 150 miles to the south, where Hurricane Dolly is expected to make landfall.
