In Alice police recovered several knives and made a number of arrests at the high school. Authorities confiscated from one of the students a number of knives.

Police were actually trying to break up a fight when they discovered one student had seven weapons on him, including a survival knife. Juan Manuel Soliz was arrested and charged with seven counts of possession of a prohibited weapon.

Lt. Cosme Castillo of the Jim Wells Sheriff's Office said, "Somebody to have these type of weapons in school is scary not only for the parents, but for the kids also. Our concern is for the safety of the kids. It is a concern and it's a scary situation." 

Two others adults and 8 teenagers were arrested for disruption in a public school.

Just a heads up The undefeated "Freer Buckaroos" will be taken on the undefeated "George West Longhorns" in both teams district opener this friday in Freer.And it looks like this is going to be a good one. Freer avg almost 50 points and giveing up 11 points a game & Gorge West is always a very tough team,sorry dont know their numbers, BUT THIS WILL BE ONE OF THE BIGGEST SMALL SCHOOL GAMES IN THE AREA THIS YEAR !!!
