KINGSVILLE--A man says an image of Jesus Christ has appeared just outside of his Kingsville home. Regardless of how you feel about these kinds of sightings, one thing is certain, lots of people are showing up at this home to see it for themselves.
You can see the image of Christ on a light pole in an alley way. He believes it's there for a reason.
Tomas Olvera just moved into this home near the Kleberg County Courthouse. Last weekend,he was meditating and praying inside, then he came outside. For some reason, he looked up at this light pole.
"When I was going in, I moved my neck," said Olvera. "That's when I saw the image of Jesus Christ. I felt real good."
Ever since he saw the image of Christ, he told his neighbors and spread the word about it. Literally, hundreds of people have come on foot and in car to check it out, even one very sick woman with her daughter came here to pray for a speedy recovery.
"It makes me feel real good," Olvera said about people coming to his home. "It makes me feel like they have faith in the Lord Jesus Christ."
Neighbors, who have lived here for decades, said they've never seen this image before. They don't believe somebody would risk their life and climb near these power lines to put the image up there.
"I was surprised because I have heard of it so many times in other parts of the state or somewhere else, but not here in Kingsville," said Estella Garcia, a neighbor.
"I feel close to God and I believe in God all my life," said C. Salazar, a friend of Olvera.
Olvera says the image of Christ has been up on this transformer pole for nearly a week. He isn't sure how much longer it will remain, but he just hopes it never goes away.
"Yes, I would like to invite everybody in the surrounding areas to come see this image so they can there is a Lord and a Christ," Olvera said.
He believes more people will come see this image, which is rarely seen in South Texas.
(Location of Light Pole is in the alley behind a home on 709 1/2 E. Henrietta between 11th and 12th St. two blocks from the Kleberg County Courthouse.)
