KINGSVILLE--A man says an image of Jesus Christ has appeared just outside of his Kingsville home. Regardless of how you feel about these kinds of sightings, one thing is certain, lots of people are showing up at this home to see it for themselves.

You can see the image of Christ on a light pole in an alley way. He believes it's there for a reason.

Tomas Olvera just moved into this home near the Kleberg County Courthouse. Last weekend,he was meditating and praying inside, then he came outside. For some reason, he looked up at this light pole.

"When I was going in, I moved my neck," said Olvera. "That's when I saw the image of Jesus Christ. I felt real good."

Ever since he saw the image of Christ, he told his neighbors and spread the word about it. Literally, hundreds of people have come on foot and in car to check it out, even one very sick woman with her daughter came here to pray for a speedy recovery.

"It makes me feel real good," Olvera said about people coming to his home. "It makes me feel like they have faith in the Lord Jesus Christ."

Neighbors, who have lived here for decades, said they've never seen this image before. They don't believe somebody would risk their life and climb near these power lines to put the image up there.

"I was surprised because I have heard of it so many times in other parts of the state or somewhere else, but not here in Kingsville," said Estella Garcia, a neighbor.

"I feel close to God and I believe in God all my life," said C. Salazar, a friend of Olvera.

Olvera says the image of Christ has been up on this transformer pole for nearly a week. He isn't sure how much longer it will remain, but he just hopes it never goes away.

"Yes, I would like to invite everybody in the surrounding areas to come see this image so they can there is a Lord and a Christ," Olvera said.

He believes more people will come see this image, which is rarely seen in South Texas.

(Location of Light Pole is in the alley behind a home on 709 1/2 E. Henrietta between 11th and 12th St. two blocks from the Kleberg County Courthouse.)

Also, I respect anyone's faith and lack therof, but Christ founded no church. Christianity was actually founded by St. Peter a few years after Christ's death. and was never even official until 313. At this time, St. Constantine (a pagan philosopher and businessman) legally founded the Roman Catholic Church for a profit. He was never even baptized until he was on his death bed when he was too weak to protest. Have faith, friends, but research will help one come to more logical conclusions.

It's great that sightings of Christ always depict his image as it has been westernized since the early 4th century. I'm not saying that he doesn't have faith, but I'm certain that if an actual image of him had shown of his true appearance, say, in the carpet, they would disregard it as a stain, spray some Shout on it, and call it a day.

God gives man freewill to choose who they want to follow but He also gives object lessons in the Bible for us to be aware of the falseness that comes around, if it can't be proved by the Bible then we should not believe in it. Jesus said in Matt 12:39 He was not giving anymore signs to this wicked generation of faihless people. He was not only talking to the people of His time but to us today. All scripture is good for correction, doctrine and also to produce righteousness in a person, 1Tim3:16.

This is just to let us know that the DAY OF THE LORD IS AT HAND AND IS COMING REAL SOON.You all see of Image of Jesus Christ and some of us get so ugly with your remarks. Kneel pray!!!

Why is it the Catholic Faith is always attacked? If you trace the roots of Christianity. Jesus Christ founded our Faith. All other faiths were founded by men. Catholics do not worship images of Jesus but the image it represents. Jesus is our Brother. His Mother, is Mary and Mary became our Mother at the cross. Since Mary is in Heaven (alive) we ask her to pray for us and interecede for us to her Son. We do the same for each other here on earth. God the Father, Son and Holy Spirit is our God.

I think that akk of the arguements on here are ridiculous, yes it is wrong to pray to any item but having faith in the lord Jesus Christ is more than a picture if it is a sign or a test, in the end we will know so everyone who doubts it should have thought in their minds if it is a test of faith. Signs are meant and God can do anything if you choose to believe thats your choice if you choose not too then be assure that you are right with the lord before judging otheres! I don't think Jesus likes that. The 'ignorance' of some Christian's scares the Spirit in me. Educate!!!! Tell your selfish, jealous Pastors to tell the Truth of the Catholic practices. Wayne, the Bible does not give the actual dates in which this generation of which you speak will live. Perhaps we are not the generation that will be denied signs? And Craig, the Ten Commandments condemn images we create ourselves; they say nothing of what God himself might create for us. That said, I have to agree that we can't really know what he might have looked like, and as much as I would like to see such a sign, this one kind of looks like the non-human characters in Planet of the Apes.

Does anybody know what Jesus looks like. We know He was a Jew but did He have long curly hair. So if we don't know what He looks like then how can we be sure it's Him. In Matthew 12:39 Jesus says, "a wicked and faitless generation will always seek after a sign, but none will be given". So if Jesus says no sign will be given to this generation are we calling Him a liar for saying this sign is from Him. The Bible is clear about who does signs and wonders these days to deceive the people. ReadStudy

Before you decide to disprove this image and project hate towards it, why don't you go to Kingsville yourself, climb that pole, and try to erase it from the transformer. No one can erase God's work. I challenge you. If you can accomplish that then tell the world. Jesus said to Thomas "Happy are those who believe without seing". If it were from the devil, then devil worshippers would be flocking these places not Christ worshippers. Think about this.

Mr Craig Snyder, with all due respect, why are you so obstinent with images. Don't you have any pictures of your loved ones. You must, and if so why do you have them. Isn't it for the same reason as everyone, to be able to remember, reminisce, tell stories (as a picture is worth 1000 words), soothe pain. Why would God have aloud the invention of camera if it weren't so. Think about this.
