SINTON--A volunteer firefighter is facing arson charges in connection with a recent fire in the Sinton area

Authorities arrested 17-year-old Daniel Castellano, a recent graduate of Sinton High School. They say he confessed to setting a building on fire last month. He reportedly said he did it because he was having problems with his girlfriend.Investigators believe he also set six other small grass fires in the area.

They say they suspected it was Castellano after he actually reported some of the fires and was one of the first firefighters to show up at the fire department for the fires..

Where exactly did you get this report of all this being because of a girlfriend? Was it on a police report or by word of mouth from a very unreliable source? People make mistakes at young ages all the time and the last thing they need is slanderous things said about them and their faces plastered all over your newspapers just so you can make a buck!

This guy is so young, I hope he had nothing to do with the fires. Could it be? He thought he would get away with-it & thats why he set these fires..He may have wanted ATTENSION.. As far as the girlfriend it sound like someone needs to leave the relationship.Good luck to all.
