BISHOP--Five undocumented immigrants are in custody after a bailout that ended in Kleberg County around Noon.

Law enforcement officers said it started as a traffic stop. On FM 70 near Bishop when the SUV took off.

After the occupants bailed out, officers caught five of them. They're from Peru, El Salvador and Honduras.

"They were so close that when they all bailed out of the vehicle," said Guillermo Vera, who is the Chief Deputy for the Nueces County Constable's Office in Precinct 3. "The officers were right behind them so the five in the rear portion of the SUV were all stop and detained right there."

Officers and Border Patrol agents continue to search for three others who were in the front seat of the car.
