KINGSVILLE--Kingsville Police raided a home near the university and shut down what was said to be a street-level drug operation.

Acting on tips from nearby residents, officers last night raided a home on Alice street recovering small amounts of cocaine and marijuana.

They also found a gun and about $100 in cash.

"They were definitely making money," said Daniel Gonzalez, who works as an investigator for the Kingsville Police Department. "With a large amount of citizen's complaints from the neighborhood a lot of traffic coming in and out of this residence, we actually ran the search warrant last night, we found a lot of cocaine package and ready for sale. We found some marijuana ready for sale and some currency."

Four people were booked into the Kleberg County Jail on drug charges.

Now we know who'll square off in the face for governor. Who do you like at this point, Republican incumbent Rick Perry or Democratic challenger, Bill White, former mayor of Houston?

  • Governor Rick Perry
