Tx DOT is preparing for the cold weather and possible icy conditions on Friday.

An upper level distrubance is suppose to bring cold air from the Rockies into South Texas tomorrow. It could bring possible snow and icy conditions in the northern part of the Coastal Bend from Mathis to Goliad.

Tx DOT workers have signs put up signs and have trucks ready to put sand on the bridges in San Patricio, Bee and Live Oak county.

"The sand and gravel keeps the roads from getting too icy or from the vehicles from sliding on the roads," said Frances Garza, who is the pubic information officer for Tx DOT.

Tx DOT officials also recommend you drive slower than the posted speed limit to make sure you don't slide off the road.

Corpus Christi City Budget

Corpus Christi city revenues aren't keeping up with the budget. What's the city to do? Cut expenses, raise taxes?

  • Small cuts in services and small tax rate hikes.
  • Drastic cuts in city services, no tax increases.
  • Reduce city employee salaries and benefits
  • Reduce all city services including pay cuts, and raise taxes
