Attorney Accused of Solicitation of Capital Murder Appears in Court

Corpus Christi attorney Paul Andrews appeared before a judge Thursday morning. He was arrested Wednesday on charges of criminal solicitation of capital murder stemming from a lawsuit he was involved in.

Back in May, Andrews was indicted by a Bexar County Grand Jury on barratry charges, or soliciting business. After an investigation between the Bexar County District Attorney and the Texas Rangers, it was discovered that Andrews allegedly tried to hire someone to kill a witness in his barratry case.

Bond conditions will have to be given to Andrews when get goes before a judge in Bexar County. No court date has been set for Andrews' trial.

Andrews, who has a law office in Corpus Christi, now faces a first-degree felony charge punishable by up to 99 years in prison.
